As they led Margaret to the police car, she turned around and glared at me. “You’ve turned my son against me. You and those children who aren’t even his!”
I moved closer, lowering my voice so only she could hear. “No, Margaret. You did this all by yourself. And now you’ve lost everything… including the $200,000 Ryan left you.”
His face froze. “What?”
“It’s in the will,” I explained. “The money was yours unless you tried to take the house from us. Guess where it’s going now?”
